MoU was signed between Tamer Ghanem, Commercial Director, dsm-firmenich MENA Region and Shoaib Jawed Savul, CEO, Savul. Also present at the signing ceremony were Youness Darrham, Senior Manager Marketing, dsm-firmenich MENA Region, Zahid Kalim, Country Manager Pakistan & Afghanistan, dsm-firmenich and William Fernendes, Savul Dubai operations’ General Manager.

Dsm-firmenich is one of the global giants with respect to food and pharmaceutical raw materials. With a sizeable sales turnover of €12 billion, the company has a very rich heritage of more than a century. It employs over 30,000 people including 2,000 of world’s best scientists. Dsm-firmenich has to its credit, 16,000 patents which have been created by the collective efforts of its team from 15 state-of-the-art R&D facilities. €700 million is spent in R&D every year. Commercial production is carried out by 39 production sites with 44 application labs.

Saqib Mehmood, General Manager, Savul’s trade division considered it a major leap forward for the company since Afghanistan is a burgeoning market for food flavors. According to him, the company has a proven track record of 75 years of a successful journey with global presence, due to which it will give impetus to dsm- firmenich’s flavors business in Afghanistan.
